How To Fix Your Slow Hard Disk?
Step1:First, we need to make sure that the hard drive is not failing.
- Download, install and run a freeware HDTUNE
- Check the Health tab and make sure it all shows OK in he Status column.
Step2: Run a file system check or scandisk.

- Go to My Computer, right click on C:drive.
- Select Properties.
- Click on the Tools tab.
- In the Error-checking box, click on the “Check now” button.
- Click the checkbox “Automatically fix file system errors“
Step3: Defragment the hard drive.

- Next box down, click the Defragment Now button.
- Select the partition you want to check.
- Click Analyse, which will take maybe 1-10 minutes.
- Then, click Defragment, and this may take an overnight job for you poor hard disk.
