Microsoft Photosynth-get 3D pictures

You go on a vacation and get several 2d pictures of the same location. This is enough for Microsoft’s 3d imaging software to give you a 3D picture of your location.

To get started, download the plugin from Microsoft Live website. The process is quite simple. It goes like this….

Photosynth recognizes common areas in the picture and stitches them all together to give a holistic 3-D view.

But be warned, to make a good synth you need at least 20 photos.

After the software synths the pictures, you can zoom in, turn it aound , angular, etc to get a real 3d view of the picture.

But the software is of no use if the pictures are visually unconnected.
