Philips have come up with a TV that has energy saving features.

The Eco TV body is made from recycled cardboard and has eliminated the lead component and reduced the mercury to its maximum.

They feature:

> 42″ 1080 pixel resolution flat panel eco TV

> uses only 75W

75Watts are due to limited light output of the TV.For this they use Dimming technology that reduces the backlight in dark or black screens.

They also have a sensor that detects the back ground light levels, resulting in lower backlight intensity when the room is darker. Also a user selectable light setting that manually controls the backlight intensity.

Ready to have  an energy saver in your living room?
