How To Speed Up Folder Browsing

Even if you are equipped with industry leading hardware such as huge RAM,multi core processors etc, there is slight delay when you open My Computer to browser your folders. This is because Windows XP searches for network and printer files each time you open the window explorer or My Computer. Hence we can increase the speed by disabling this feature. Following are the steps to disable the facility.

Step1: Open My Computer

Step2: Click the Tools Menu

Step3: Click on Folder Options

Step4: Click on View Tab

Step5: Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box and Click Apply.

Step6: Click OK and Reboot

And now you may notice that the windows explorer is fast as the delay have be minimized. Even though this had been a simple trick, its much unnoticed by the users.

There are a variety of utilities just made for the sake of it and others made for high level of productivity and here I am going to introduce you a utility. And its you who is to decide which category of utilities does it fall, according to me it could be a mixed response as some may find it usefull and some junk.

The utility I mentioned is WorkMeterXP which measures the number of mouse clicks and key press and gives you the result with all those statistics. It counts keyboard and mouse clicks and calculates cursor’s trajectory length in pixels and meters.Calculated length depends on diagonal length so it must be set in order to achieve better accuracy. The statistics are shown in HTML and you can navigate through all the past stats. So its now you to decide…just try it out and post your comments.

New Slim Sony Ericsson T700

Sony Ericsson had recently announced the slim and elegant T700 as new avatar for its slim-line lineup.  T700 with just 10mm thin, its packed with 3.2-megapixel camera, 2-inch display, stereo speakers, and a 512MB memory card out-of-box. Its really hard to take your eyes off from the T700 with the vibrant colors like black on silver, black on red, and shining silver.

 

Even though the T700 does not have a Walkman branding it really does justice to music as well with Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) support and a color matched headset. Furthermore, the Sony Ericsson T700 offers the Access NetFront web browser, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support, geo tagging of photos and Google Maps. But the camera functionality is what T700 lacks as it does not have Xenon Flash and auto focus. The T700 offers just the basic set of camera functions along with the self portrait mirror. T700 claims to have a talk time of 4.5 hours of 3G talk time and supports GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz networks and European HSDPA 2100 MHz networks. Sony Ericsson T700 is expected to be in the markets by October.
